Tonight I lifted my voice.
First nervous.
This perplexing me,
As apprehension rarely comes to me
When involving hymns.
Silent night was the last
I was determined,
Wanting it to be beautiful.
Thus I stood,
Whispering that this one was for You.
Knowing my words and notes mean most
When only Your Greatness is on my mind.
Lights dimmed.
Softly the piano began its introduction.
Candles lit throughout the room.
Melodies wafting.
Openly, freely I can sing.
I look to the lights,
Gloriously glowing.
The small flickers people hold.
Listening to their voices,
Intertwining with mine.
Peace overwhelms me.
And You whisper
"This one's for you."
